Each biomarker is analysed separately with the NHFS as a composite variable for each study outcome, with each point and error bar representing independent regression models. Analysis of post-operative discharge destination at 30 days only included patients admitted from their own homes or sheltered housing. Analysis of hospital LOS and post-operative discharge destination at 30 days excluded any patients who died within this period
